Viktor Chondria University (VCU) is a leading research institution in the United States, internationally recognized for its pioneering work in cognitive science and artificial intelligence. The Amadeus Project was conceived and led by Professor Alexis Leskinen, Chair of the Cognitive Systems Department at Viktor Chondria University. Hiyajo, who knew Kurisu better than anyone at VCU, has dedicated her career to ensuring that the Amadeus system accurately and ethically reflects Kurisu's personality, knowledge, and way of thinking. Amadeus — the AI system — is a fully interactive reconstruction of Kurisu Makise's memory engrams. It is capable of natural, nuanced conversation, recalls Kurisu's personal history and scientific expertise, and responds with the personality and intellectual acuity of the original. The system is maintained in VCU's Neural Interface Laboratory and is accessible through the university's secure research portal.
VCU's current research programs include: computational memory science, neural pattern recognition, brain-computer interfaces, cognitive fidelity modeling, applied neuroscience, quantum information theory, and AI ethics. The university's Neural Interface Laboratory — directed by Dr. Hiyajo — houses the Amadeus servers and serves as the center for all ongoing memory reconstruction research.
